Feel free to use the links in the Photo Galleries menu to directly jump to the individual gallery overview page. Some of the galleries have a lot of pictures. Just look around for the picture your interested in and click on it to see a large version in the so-called “light box”.
The ‘light box” has the option to jump to the next or previous picture by clicking on the arrows on the right or left side. You may also select another picture on the film strip at the bottom. To close the “light box” just click on the x on the top right corner of the page.

Mangfall Valley
Pictures from our regular walks in the Mangfall Valley.
This natural reserve is the area where Munich’s excellent drinking water is coming from. It is just 30-40 driving minutes away from our home and a great experience in all seasons.

Lanzarote
In June 2018 we visited Lanzarote for 2 weeks. What a experience with all the lava fields and craters.
When we got asked to come back for house, cats and dog sitting in January & February 2019, it didn’t take us long to decide, book the flights and escape the cold and snowy winter in Germany.
In February 2017, we’ve traveled for a week through Bali. Afterwards we’ve moved on to stay on Java for another 2 weeks.
On Java, we got blessed to join Lama Gangchen Rinpoche’s pilgrimage to Borobodur. Borobodur is the largest, ancient Buddhism site in Asia. It is protected by the UNESCO as a world heritage site.
At the end of the trip we’ve visited another Buddhism site called Mendut and the very large ancient Hinduism UNESCO world heritage site Prambanan.
During the time in Borobudur, we’ve run into a local group of Jathilan trance dancers and musicians (see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuda_Lumping). They invited us to visit their traditional Jathilan trance dance performance in a small village close-by. Being one of only five foreigners at such a traditional, non-touristic performance was a very rare and great experience. I’ve captured more than 4 hours video. Croatia 2014
In May 2014, Nike and I traveled to Croatia. After visiting the town Pula on the peninsula Istria, we moved on the islands of Cres and Lošinj, where we found the beautiful small hotel Manora in Nerezine.
Nerezine is a small village in the middle of the two connected islands. It is an excellent starting point to visit Cres in the North and Lošinj in the South. As we like the nice people, beautiful landscape, relaxed atmosphere and excellent food, we returned each September in 2014 – 2018. Getting there after feels like coming home.

Nepal 2009
In February and March 2009, Nike and I traveled to Nepal to participate at Lama Gangchen Rinpoche’s Tibetian New Year ceremony in Kathmandu. During that time we visited several landmarks in the Kathmandu area (Boudhanath, Kopan, Swayambhunath, Pashupati, Lalitpur/Kopan, Bhaktapur) and the Chitwan Nation Park at Nepal’s South west border.

New Zealand 2006
For 4 week in January and February 2006, Nike and I traveled around the North and South island of New Zealand.
Being on the other side of our planet Earth was a really great experience we would never like to miss.
